Moringa: the tree of life
Why a drought-hardy tree became the emblem of survival across three continents — and four unfussy ways to get it into an ordinary day.

Long before kingdoms rose and vanished, the earth kept a quiet sentinel. Moringa's roots grip even the driest soil, its leaves glow like green flames, and its pods carry the promise of survival.
For generations the elders told the same story: when famine emptied homes and hunger pressed hard, moringa appeared like a gift from the earth itself. It fed the weak and it stayed green when nothing else would. It has never been just food. It was a vow written in green — you will not wither.
The ancient voice
In Ayurveda moringa is shigru: the fire tucked inside green, and a herb said to suit all three doshas. It was given to warriors before battle, to mothers after childbirth, and to travellers walking long roads — strength without strain, nourishment without excess.
Moringa is not a fleeting trend. It is an inheritance — passed from ancient roots to modern kitchens.
How ours is made
Our Moringa Powder is a single ingredient: Moringa oleifera leaf, and nothing else. No fillers, no anti-caking agents, no added preservatives. It is shade-dried rather than sun-dried, then stone-ground.
That distinction is the whole product. Direct sunlight degrades chlorophyll and the heat-sensitive vitamins along with it. Shade-drying takes considerably longer, and it is why the powder in the pouch is deep green rather than the khaki you see in cheaper leaf powder. It is a natural source of dietary fibre, iron and vitamin A, and it is packed under FSSAI licence.
Bringing it into your day
Moringa doesn't ask for effort. One level teaspoon — about two grams — once or twice a day, folded into something you already drink or cook. The flavour is strong and faintly grassy, so start with half a teaspoon if it is new to you.
- Morning cleanse — a spoon in warm water with honey, taken first thing.
- Smoothie boost — blended with banana, spinach and almond milk.
- Herbal tea — steeped in hot water with lemon and a spoon of Clear Healing Honey.
- Green juice — shaken through cucumber, mint and lemon for something cooling.
- Hidden in plain sight — stirred into dal, soup, or the dough for roti and paratha.
If plain leaf powder is too bitter for you, the Moringa Elixir is the same idea in a gentler form: moringa built into a base of forest honey with fourteen supporting herbs and spices, taken by the spoonful rather than mixed into a drink.
Storing it properly
- Keep the pouch tightly closed, in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
- No preservatives are added, so the seal is doing the work.
- Gluten free. For allergens, see the ingredients panel on the pack.
- Nutritional values vary naturally between harvests — this is leaf, not a formulation.
A note on claims. Everything above describes how these ingredients have traditionally been used, and how we suggest using them. Beyond Herba sells food, not medicine. Nothing here is intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.
